Invisible Results These protectors when applied correctly, are super flat like glass and super smooth. Other screen protectors have micro bumps or grooves that distort the image of high rsolution devices. This protector is therefore a must if you use a super high resolution tablet PC or PDA like the Dell Axim x51V. Also, because it is super flat without the air escape micro bumps, the application needs to be done carefuly to avoid air bubbles and trapped dirt which will be noticable. Problems rarely occur, but when they do, it is easy to overcome. If you have problems with application, you can solve it by ensuring the surface is very clean and smooth or by using certain lubricants like water based KY Jelly lubricant as a last resort, which results in excellent clear bubble free results. What Equipment Do I Need? 1. A screen to cover 2. Some good anti static cleaning cloth to clean the screen (optional) 3. A few drops of water or lubricant to go between the screens if you are alot of trouble with bubbles when applying screen protectors (optional) 4. A Pen/Marker, scissors, sharp blade or pen knife, ruler or sliding paper cutter etc... (if you want to cut it to size) 5. A printer to print out the grid we provide that will help you cut the paper (optional) Durability / Rigidity The screen protector is made of medium hard polyester sheeting and is about as rigid as 6 to 10 layers of standard clear tape (also known as packing tape, sticky tape scotch tape etc...) stuck over each other. Not that hard, and not that Soft either. How do i use it? The following instructions are for beginners. We don't really use them as we are used to our method. We simply just cut, peel(speperate) and stick on to the surface, and cut again to fine-tune (like with the iPod Nano's demonstration picture above). You can follow these instructions, of use your own method if you wish, but we recommend you read the additional hints that come after the instructions as they may come in handy. Most importantly, keep the intended target surface and the adhesive side of the screen protector free from dust. Helpful Hints / Tips / Notes While Pressing the protector onto the screen : You can use a cloth to press the protector onto the screen to allow for even application, if you don't like to use the zigzag or straight motion. It is rarely required, but you can also use a little drop of lubricant or oil or perhaps even water (depending on what screen it is) between the screen and the protector to allow you to get rid of bubbles or air pockets. smear it all over the screen before putting the protector on. Water based lubricant like KY Jelly is great and may evaporate leaving the screen protector in place nicely with no bubbles giving an good result, while oil based may allow you to reposition it easily well into the future since grease/oil evaporates extremely slowly and the adhesive may not be effective. Obviously, this is up to you and if you wish to do so, you must know the risks invovled of putting any form of liquid or lubricant, especially water or oil on your device- it may lead to rusting, corrosion and perhaps short circuits, which is rare with new age materials and circuitry, but still possible. Avoid touching the surface with tissue paper as pieces can stick to the adhesive and become hard ot remove unless cleaned. Oil and or soap, or water based lubricants may be used to wash off dust from the protector if water is not sufficient. You can wash teh adhesive side, but do not scratch it. Which side of the plastic is the adhesive side? When you first look at the screen protectors after receiving it, it isn't obvious at all which side is the hard plastic and which side is the thin film covering the adhesive. Therefore, we recommend you to cut a tab out as stated in the diagram. Alternatively, if you wish not to cut the entire sheet or cut a tab, you can also use a penknife to make a very tiny scratch on either side of sheet at the very edge/corner. This should allow you to see which side is torn more easily. the side which is harder to tear is obviously the side of the actual screen protector, while the easily torn side is just the thin layer of plastic protecting the sticky adhesive side of the actual screen protector till it is ready for use. How do I seperate it? To seperate the thin adhesive protector film from the screen protector, use rub the edges perpendicularily and one side should come off - just like you seperate a sticker rather. Or use a knife to scratch (but not cut), the side of the adhesive protecting film that is about 1mm from the corner of the paper. Scratch inwards on the adhesive layer (the side protecting the sticky part of the screen protector), and the rest of the film should be able come off easily. What else can i do with it? You can use it to protect any surface/screen.. This includes, Tablet PC's, iPods (And even iPod Nano), Mp3 players, mobile phones, LCD Screens, Touch screens, Watches, Monitors, Keypads, cameras, laptops, or pretty much any surface really. If the surface is hard, the flatter the surface, the more incredible the crystal clear glass-like the result). Using it on paper will be similar to laminating it. No, these are not self laminating sheets (the adhesive is totally different, and requires larger borders to remain watertight). But you can use them as such if you really want excellent results on the spot without using a laminating machine. The advanced adhesive sticks well to each other, looking similar to a laminate sheet.. There are usually no bubbles present and a clear see through result is achievable. As stated earlier, you may be required to leave a larger border around the laminated object when you cut it to size if you want it water tight, not like the one shown in the picture, which is just for general tear protection. END OF INSTRUCTIONS What we think about its quality This is one of the best screen protectors we have ever seen in terms of flatness and smoothness and clearity. It is not just smooth on sight, but it is even smooth on touch. Our PDA's Stylus (touch screen pen) feels like it is writing on glass.. It is so incredibly smooth to write on that our fingers and PDA touch pens glide over the screen protector so easily with nearly no effort; compared to flimsy rubbery, high friction stick on screen protectors that we had in the past. It is not too flimsy and not too hard. Its rigidness is just right for easy handling. Also, because it is adhesive, it won't fall off easily. We also like it since it can be washed, although it must be done carefully with soap or librucant so as to not damage the adhesive coating. It doesn't have micro grooves or bumps on the adhesive side like almost all other stick on screen protectors. This makes it very clear and flat, but more susceptible to bubbles. We feel that the professional glass-like invisible results outweigh the need for microgroves to rid of air bubbles. Air bubble problems are easily solved compared to a poor blury image like other protectors give. We tried using other PDA protective screens with a Dell Axim x51V PDA, and the difference is very obvious. With this screen protector, the protective screen is nearly invisible with the backlight off. With the backlight on, it is pretty much totally invisible. Images come through really sharp and clear on the screen (the Dell x51v has the highest resolution screen we have ever seen in such a tiny space). We used a tad of water based lubricant (K Y Jelly) just in case to remove all the bubbles which made applying it so much easier, but it was not necessary with most other devices. We recommend this item if you are serious about professional screen protection. It may be slightly harder to get up and running, but its definately worth it for the price, quality, quantity and end results when done correctly. Also, do not mistake its initial appearence as blurry. Once you sperate the screen protector from the adhesive protective layer, the actual screen protector it is much clearer. When stuck onto a flat surface, you could see your reflection very clearly and sharply in it, like in the picture below.
